What period of history do you wish you knew more about?

I wish I knew more about the women of WWII, those remarkable heroines who held their homes together while their loved ones went off to war. This was a time of profound patriotism and unwavering strength. The endurance and perseverance of these women is nothing short of extraordinary. My conversations with my grandmothers about this era have been filled with awe and admiration, sparking a desire to understand more. It truly was a generation that faced the harshest trials with grace and dignity.

Vacation druthers… City or Rural destination? Why?

My dream vacation always leads me to a city, the beating heart of a region or country's finest cuisine. In these bustling metropolises, I delight in people-watching, where residents' and visitors' unique and captivating fashions weave a vibrant tapestry. Amidst the historic streets and art-filled galleries, cities enchant me with their rich cultural experiences, each moment a romantic escape into the soul of a place.

Do you have another artistic outlet in addition to your writing? Do you sew? Paint? Draw? Knit? Dance?

In addition to being an author, I am also an illustrator. Rediscovering the art of drawing has become a sanctuary for my creativity, letting my mind build whimsical stories where my words can come alive. With a Bachelor's degree from Parsons, I am excited to introduce my artistic style in A HORSE IN THE CASTLE. This journey blends my love for storytelling with the magic of illustration, crafting a dreamscape for young readers to explore.

If you could create a museum exhibition, what would be the theme?

If I could create any museum exhibit, it would be a dreamy collection titled "Romance in Art." Envision an enchanting space where all five senses are immersed in the allure of love and beauty. The exhibit would feature first editions of timeless romance novels and fairy tales. The walls would be adorned with the world's most renowned Impressionist artwork, capturing the delicate dance of light and color. As you stroll through the halls, the soft strains of history's greatest ballads will serenade your heart. A food hall would offer a diverse array of culinary delights, each dish a testament to the romance of flavor. To complete the sensory journey, a gallery of the finest perfumes would fill the air, creating a tapestry of romance and art.

What brings you great joy?

Reading to my children and settling in for the night brings me immense joy. It's a special time to reflect on the day's adventures, dream about tomorrow's possibilities, and lose ourselves in lots of enchanting fairy tales. This precious ritual also sets the stage for my own nightly escape into a book. Currently, I'm finishing Sarah J. Maas's THRONE OF GLASS series, savoring every page.
