Are there particular films that have influenced your writing?
There are numerous films that have influenced my writing. Pulp Fiction is a great example of such film. Movies like Star Wars the original trilogy is another big influence on me as well. If i had to pick out the biggest film influence though, it would most likely be Wes Cravens A Nightmare on Elm Street, and not just the original, but the whole film series.
Not all books are for all readers… when you start a book and you just don’t like it, how long do you read until you bail?
On this question I would have to say several chapters, at least five. Any book might have a slow start, but if you give up too soon, you just might wind up missing out on a phenomenal story. I have to be honest though, I can't remember the last book that I started and did not finish.
Is there another profession you would like to try?
There are several other professions I would love to try. I would love to experience being a Navy Seal for several weeks. I can't think of another more exhilarating job out there than that. It would also be cool to experience being a surgeon, someone who saves lives, that has always intrigued me as well.
What’s the difference (at least for you!) between being a writer and an author? How do you shift gears between the two?
Being a writer and being an author are two different things, that is for certain. When I'm being a writer, I'm just jotting things down, not really going to great lengths to sort of fill out the story. A writer will write articles, not novels.
What brings you great joy?
So many things in this world bring me joy. My wife and kids, my parents, my sister. My in-laws bring me great joy as well. Reading and writing books bring me intense joy and pleasure. I love to slip off, create new worlds, new characters. Doing that would bring anyone joy.
